History
Project Hard Hat was founded in February, 2004. We are an IRS 501(c)3 charity.
Our
vision is to promote the practice of safer sex among gay men.
Having no paid staff, we rely upon volunteers and donations from the public.
Hard Hat first delivered condoms in November, 2004. We are currently in
30
Phoenix Area venues. In 2007 we distributed over 153,000 condoms. For 2008, we
are
distributing over 10,000 condoms per month, plus special
events.
Having attained our goal of making free condoms available, we are
expanding
into more outreach events and publicity activities.
